Stephen Brown, BSc, MD, FRCPC

Stephen Brown is currently the Corporate Chief of Anesthesia at William Osler Health System. His previous leadership roles have included President of the Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) and Canadian Association of Internes and Residents (CAIR), Director of Medical Education at St. Joseph’s Health Centre (Toronto), Chair of the Ontario Medical Association Section on Anesthesiology, and Chief of the Department of Anesthesia at North York General Hospital. He has also been instrumental in the creation of innovative projects with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care including the Cataract Anesthesia Pilot model and the Anesthesia Care Team Project.
He is currently the Director of the Ontario’s Anesthesiologists Leadership Initiative, Inaugural President of the University of Toronto Department of Anesthesia Alumni Association, and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Recently he was appointed to the Physician Provincial Leadership Council which advises the Ontario Hospital Association on MD-hospital related issues.
Stephen combines extensive leadership and administrative experience at the hospital, provincial and national levels with the perspective of active clinical practice – a background of significant value to Medfall clients. His particular interests are in leadership promotion, physician engagement, consensus-building and creative problem-solving.
Tom Dickson, MD, FRCSC

As former Chief of Staff at the William Osler Health Centre (WOHC), a large, multi-site hospital corporation, Tom experienced, first-hand, the challenges of healthcare management in a very dynamic, restructured environment. He continues to practice otolaryngology at the Brampton site of the WOHC where he was also Chief of Surgery and Director of the Operating Room. Tom served on numerous medical and governmental health-related bodies over a twenty-five year period and has provided consulting services to a number of large community hospitals in Ontario. He is past President of the Ontario Medical Association and has served on the Board of the OMA for twelve years. In addition, he has served on the Boards of the CMA and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. Tom is past Chair of the William Osler Hospital Foundation and past Chair of the OMA Hospital Committee.
Jonathan Dreyer, BSc, MD, CM, FRCPC

Jon graduated from McGill University and completed his residency in emergency medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Since 1984 he has practiced emergency medicine at the University of Western Ontario affiliated teaching hospitals in London, Ontario.
He was Chief of Emergency Medicine at both Victoria Hospital and subsequently at both campuses of the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), for a combined total of 13 years. He is a past President of the Medical staff at LHSC, Past Chair of the Ontario Medical Association Section on Emergency Medicine and has served on numerous government committees relating to the practice and organization of emergency medicine in the province. He has also been Chief of Staff of Four Counties Health Services in Newbury Ontario since 2002. This gives him unique insight into the issues facing small rural hospitals, and their relationship to larger academic teaching hospitals.
Jon helped establish the Ontario Base Hospital network in 1987, and was Medical Director of the London Base Hospital from its inception until 2008. He continues to be active in Emergency Medical Systems and Health Services research and has a particular interest in emergency department staffing and operations. He holds an appointment at the level of Professor at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario.
Don DuVall, MD, FRCPC

Dr. Don DuVall is currently the Chief of Anaesthesia and the Clinical Director of the Surgical Program at the Royal Victoria Hospital of Barrie. In both his home hospital and in his consulting activities he has participated in surgical strategic planning, capital expansion and development, PCOP planning and recruitment initiatives. He has also participated as one of the physician leads in the MOHLTC Perioperative Coaching program. This initiative focused on Perioperative process, flow and efficiency. Don has also been involved in Anaesthesia Department planning, recruitment and development. In his role as Clinical Director for Surgery, Don has participated in the development of surgical wait-time strategies including CCO cancer wait-time initiatives.
Patrick Gibney, MB, CCFP, MBA

Patrick Gibney, President of The Medfall Group, graduated from University College Dublin and completed his Family Practice Residency at McMaster University in Hamilton. He is past Chairman of the Department of General Practice, past President of Medical Staff and has served on the Medical Staff Executive and Board of Directors of the Greater Niagara General Hospital for many years.
Patrick holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, London. He is an inaugural member of the Canadian Society of Physician Executives. His medical background and administrative training have been instrumental in The Medfall Group’s development as a healthcare company facilitating hospitals and healthcare organizations to better serve their communities. Patrick maintains a clinical practice, which allows him to remain current and practical on issues related to client needs and company deliverables. He plays a management role in the company as well as partnering with consultants on specific projects which require the physician - administrative perspective, thus providing a unique value add to the very specific needs of many client organizations.
Geoffrey Purdell-Lewis, MB, BS, BSc, FRCPC, FACA

Geoffrey was Chief, Department of Anaesthesia at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton and was the Clinical Director of Anaesthesia at the University of Alberta Hospitals as well as being active in research and in teaching. He was subsequently appointed VP, Medical at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton. On moving to Ontario, Geoffrey became VP, Clinical Affairs at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton and then Chief of Staff and Medical Program Director at West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto until November 2001. Geoffrey has recently returned to clinical medicine in the field of chronic pain management at the Rothbart Pain Management Clinic, Toronto. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster University Medical School and is active in the Undergraduate MD Program and related activities. He is also a member of the Canadian Society of Physician Executives. In his consulting role, Geoffrey brings his skills and experience as a clinician, medical leader, faculty member and medical administrator to meet the needs of Medfall's clients.
