In conjunction with our partners, a large group of associates, representing all specialties, works with our group to address your consulting needs. Tom Dickson, MD, FRCSC As former Chief of Staff at the William Osler Health Centre (WOHC), a large, multi-site hospital corporation, Tom experienced, first-hand, the challenges of healthcare management in a very dynamic, restructured environment. He continues to practice otolaryngology at the Brampton site of the WOHC where he was also Chief of Surgery and Director of the Operating Room. Tom served on numerous medical and governmental health-related bodies over a twenty-five year period and has provided consulting services to a number of large community hospitals in Ontario. He is past President of the Ontario Medical Association and has served on the Board of the OMA for twelve years. In addition, he has served on the Boards of the CMA and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce. Tom is past Chair of the William Osler Hospital Foundation and past Chair of the OMA Hospital Committee. Patrick Gibney, MD, CCFP, MBA Patrick Gibney, President of The Medfall Group, graduated from University College Dublin and completed his Family Practice Residency at McMaster University in Hamilton. He is past Chairman of the Department of General Practice, past President of Medical Staff and has served on the Medical Staff Executive and Board of Directors of the Greater Niagara General Hospital for many years. Patrick holds an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, London. He is an inaugural member of the Canadian Society of Physician Executives. His medical background and administrative training have been instrumental in The Medfall Groups development as a healthcare company facilitating hospitals and healthcare organizations to better serve their communities. Patrick maintains a hospital and community practice, which allows him to remain current and practical on issues related to client needs and company deliverables. He plays a management role in the company as well as partnering with consultants on specific projects which require the physician - administrative perspective, thus providing a unique value add to the very specific needs of many client organizations. Murray Girotti, BSc, MD, FRCSC, FACS Murray Girotti has been a core consultant and partner of The Medfall Group’s consulting division for the past several years. Murray has held numerous medical leadership positions in major teaching hospitals in Ontario since the early 1980s. Most recently, Dr. Girotti was the Vice President Medical and Academic Affairs for the London Health Sciences Centre, and prior to that, was the Senior Advisor to the CEO and President of the London Health Sciences Centre. He was also the Chief, Department of Surgery, Victoria Hospital London before its merger with the University Hospital London to create the London Health Sciences Centre. Murray currently holds the position of Medical Director, Trauma Program, London Health Sciences Centre and University of Western Ontario and in that capacity is also the Chair, Ontario Provincial Trauma Network. He holds an active university appointment with the University of Western Ontario as Professor of Surgery, Division of General Surgery, Department of Surgery.
Dr. Girotti has undertaken numerous consultative reviews on behalf of provincial and federal agencies such as the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care, the Department of Health, Province of New Brunswick, the Chief Coroner's Offices for the provinces of Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and Canadian Forces Health Services. Murray has participated in many programmatic, departmental and hospital operational reviews of health care organizations in Ontario, British Columbia and Nova Scotia. Geoffrey Purdell-Lewis, MB, BS, BSc, FRCPC, FACA Geoffrey was Chief, Department of Anaesthesia at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton and was the Clinical Director of Anaesthesia at the University of Alberta Hospitals as well as being active in research and in teaching. He was subsequently appointed VP, Medical, at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton. On moving to Ontario, Geoffrey became VP, Clinical Affairs, at St. Peter's Hospital in Hamilton and then Chief of Staff and Medical Program Director at West Park Healthcare Centre in Toronto until November 2001. Geoffrey has recently returned to clinical medicine in the field of chronic pain management at the Rothbart Pain Management Clinic, Toronto. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at McMaster University Medical School and is active in the Undergraduate MD Program and related activities. He is also a member of the Canadian Society of Physician Executives. In his consulting role, Geoffrey brings his skills and experience as a clinician, medical leader, faculty member and medical administrator to meet the needs of MMC's clients.
