    Erie Shores HealthCare, Leamington, ON

    Our client, Erie Shores HealthCare (ESHC), located in beautiful southwest Ontario, is a 70-bed acute care community hospital providing a range of patient programs and services including an Emergency Department, Ambulatory Care, Outpatient Diagnostic and Therapeutic services, Laboratory Services, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics, Family and Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Intensive Care Unit, Cardiopulmonary Services, Pharmacy, and Rehabilitation Services.

    The Erie Shores HealthCare Perioperative Surgical Program is dedicated to serving the community with excellence and innovation.  With three state-of-the-art operating rooms and a specialized endoscopy suite, they proudly offer a comprehensive range of surgical services with an average of 1,800 surgical cases and 2,700 endoscopy procedures each year.  Their General Surgery Program is at the forefront of surgical innovation, providing a wide range of traditional and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures.  Their expertise covers various areas, including: Hernia Repairs; Appendix Surgeries; Gall Bladder Surgeries; Melanoma, Breast, and Colon Cancer Surgeries; Diagnostic and Screening Endoscopic Procedures, such as Colonoscopies.  ESHC is seeking  General Surgeons, 1 Full-Time and 1 Part-Time position available.

    Successful candidates will possess or be eligible for FRCSC certification or equivalent and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Surgeons with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision.

    Full Time Position

    OR time provided:

    • 1 Operative list per week, 47 weeks of the year booked from 0800-1500
    • 1 Endoscopy list per week, 47 weeks of the year booked from 0800-1530
    • 1 Outpatient General Surgery Clinic (lumps/bumps clinic) once a month, booked from 0800-1500 in a clinic setting with 1 RPN

     

    Part Time Position

    • Permanent Part Time working 1 weekend a month
    • Fee for Service OHIP billings plus $1,500 stipend per day inclusive of HOCC payment
    • Weekend is 8 am on Friday to 8 am on Monday
    • Handover will occur by phone call on Friday morning where internal arrangements with staff surgeons for emergencies on site during the day can take place until the part time surgeon arrives onsite early afternoon
    • Accommodations and travel costs are negotiable

     

    In addition to fee for service billings and HOCC funding, these full-time or part-time positions offer a very attractive compensation as well as a generous incentive package including:

    • $50K signing bonus for 2 years return of service for the full time position
    • $25K signing bonus for 2 years return of service for the part time position – 1 weekend per month
    • An interest free loan of $50,000 for relocation costs over the term of the full-time position contract
    • $1,000 CME incentive per year that can be banked up to $3,000

     

    Erie Shores HealthCare is an affiliated teaching site of the Western University Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.  Staff at ESHC are eligible for an academic appointment and can participate in post graduate education teaching opportunities with residents and medical learners.  Regular CME opportunities are available and supported.

    Successful candidates will be CCFP-EM, or ABEM, or FRCPC certified, or CCFP certified with Emergency Medicine experience, and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.  CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Physicians with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision.

    Emergency Medicine AFA Hourly rates range from $160 per hour to $224 per hour.  Hourly rates are topped up with 37% of shadow billings.  On select shifts there is currently an extra $21/hour being provided to support Critical Care Outreach Team.

    Our client, Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), is a multi-faceted health services organization operating from two main sites, the Metropolitan Campus and the Ouellette Campus.  With 600 beds and an operating budget of over half a billion dollars, WRH is the regional provider of advanced care in areas that include complex trauma, renal dialysis, cardiac care, stroke and neurosurgery, intensive care, acute mental health, family birthing centre, neonatal intensive care, paediatric services, and regional cancer services.  WRH provides a broad range of medical and surgical services required to support these specialized areas for more than 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County.   Windsor Regional Hospital is seeking full-time or part-time Anesthesiologists.

    WRH’s Anesthesiologist group covers 22 operating rooms spanning two acute care sites and delivers a broad range of medical care from preoperative anesthesia assessment to advanced service in many perioperative settings.  This collegial group supports the subspecialties of Neurosurgery, Vascular, Thoracic, Oral and Maxillofacial, General, Orthopaedic, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Plastics, and Urology.  Close to 30,000 surgical procedures are performed each year as well as approximately 3,800 births.

    Candidates must be certified, or be eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Physicians with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision.
