WRH’s Anesthesiologist group covers 22 operating rooms spanning two acute care sites and delivers a broad range of medical care from preoperative anesthesia assessment to advanced service in many perioperative settings. This collegial group supports the subspecialties of Neurosurgery, Vascular, Thoracic, Oral and Maxillofacial, General, Orthopaedic, Otolaryngology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Plastics, and Urology. Close to 30,000 surgical procedures are performed each year as well as approximately 3,500 births.

Physicians at WRH have the opportunity to educate and mentor residents from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, with professional staff members eligible to hold a University appointment.

PSYCHIATRISTS

With 483 beds and an operating budget of half a billion dollars, WRH is the regional provider of advanced care in areas that include complex trauma, renal dialysis, cardiac care, stroke and neurosurgery, intensive care, acute mental health, family birthing centre, neonatal intensive care, paediatric services, and regional cancer services.  WRH provides a broad range of medical and surgical services required to support these specialized areas for more than 400,000 people in Windsor and Essex County.

Windsor Regional Hospital is seeking full-time or part-time General Adult Psychiatrists to support their inpatient and Emergency Room Adult Psychiatry services.

Working with a team of 12 psychiatrists, successful candidates will share responsibility for inpatient services as well as consult liaison service and emergency department coverage. With 68 psychiatric beds including an 8-bed PICU and two 30-bed units, the WRH Ouellette campus provides acute mental health care for residents of Windsor and Essex County who are over 16 years of age.  Services are focused on crisis intervention, inpatient care, including psychiatric consults in the Emergency Medicine Department. General Adult Psychiatrists provide support to hospital inpatient programs and services.  Staff Psychiatrists also have personal offices where they attend private patients, either in post-hospitalization follow-up or as referred by other physicians in the community.

The ideal candidates will possess a Canadian Fellowship in Psychiatry, be eligible for licensure in Ontario, and have solid clinical & interpersonal skills.
